Brief Impression (click on read more to see the full review): a sensual and a little bit earthy take on a rose theme

One of the hardest things is to produce a rose fragrance that smell really different from what is already available at shelves. Being such a popular flower rose was already explored several times with a huge variation of its nuances: you have lemony, bitter roses, velvety musky ones, spiced varations, boozy interpretations, and so on. It's even harder to find a rose fragrance that uses saffron and oud and is still able to stood out from other compositions pairing those three notes. So a good rose fragrance today must be just like Rose Bohème, one that even tough is not totally original is still even able to offer a complex experience over rose and one that tries to use classical notes at its own.

The name is appropriate for this rose composition, that doesn't seem innocent and ladylike. Rose Bohéme explore the dirtiness of roses and the complex facets of the rose - the musky nuance, the spice edge, the earthy aura. I starts tricking you with a lemony opening that makes you think you'll get another well behaved rose much like the classic english rose themed fragrances. But then the bohemian side of the rose is shown, at first with the incensed fir aspect. Then, oud and saffron arrive to form the expected trio with rose, but this time one that favors rose, giving it a spicy nuance and a ambered musky aura that seems different here from what you would expect from the trio. And it's surprising that at this point you get a lemony, slightly bitter and sweet edge comming from the rose, very chic and seamlessly blended with the other notes. And as the scent fades on skin the rose thematic starts to get even more raw and dirty. The rose pairs down with patchouli and the patchouli is dominant, with an almost hippie facet that forms a great pair with the dry facet of the rose. This rich, woody, earthy patchouli is what remains on skin after the rose completes its night and goes home, seeming a proper and high quality ending to the theme proposed.

Rose Bohéme is classic, but balanced as the rest of providence perfume fragrances. Also, as natural fragrance it's a rose offering with a considerable sillage and longevity - strong at the first hour and remaining moderat for the next 5 - 6 hours. The multifaceted use of rose ensures that you don't get bored as the days goes by, being a pleasant experience to pay attention on the different facets of rose used here. It's a fragrance that wants to have fun, to marry the night with style, one that embraces its notes, being they classic and a little bit dirty, extracting the best it can from them. It's a rose fragrance sample worthy even if you have a wardrobe full of high quality rose offers.
